Our
Mission... Our lifelong mission is to have every child walk out

SSG's Competitive Gymnastics Team The SSG competitive gymnastics team has 47 members ranging from Level 1's through Level 7's. The first competitive
season is for Levels 1 through 6 and begins in August and concludes the first week in December at the State Meet.
Level 1 through 6 is called the "compulsory" level. All compulsories do the same routines and they all
use the same floor music. Levels 7, 8, 9 & 10 is called the "Optional" level. Optionals each
have their own routines & they get to pick out their own floor music. In January, the Level 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,
& 6 team members begin competing as "Prep Opts". The term "Prep Opt" is short for "preparation
for optionals", which means they are preparing for the optional level by having their own routines and pick out their
own music, but the skills required and not as advanced as the higher levels. The competitive season for Optionals begins
in January. Competitive gymnasts compete as individuals, but also as a team. A team must have at least 3 members
on that level to qualify for a team award.
